I should really update this more often, but I keep forgetting. Plus, it's been a busy summer. But there is something that I feel I need to spread the word about, so here I am.

This is pretty much copied from Sam's (aka copperbadge) LJ post here.

A few days ago, Wordpress suspended A Search For Survivors, and there was a letter campaign that had to be called off because they deleted it. [Read More About It Here] Now, they've brought it back, sort of, and are taunting waywardradish with it. They are, in fact, tormenting an abuse survivor by telling her she has no control over her words and her story.

So please, feel free to email them again at tosreports@wordpress.com to -- politely and courteously -- request that they stop interfering with the journal. No specific subject line is needed. Suggested text (via Sam):

I strongly protest your continued interference with the Wordpress journal childtorture.wordpress.com. It is a vital and invaluable resource for holding therapy survivors. The documentation it presents includes firsthand experiences, eyewitness accounts, and news, medical, and legal documents available to the public.

In suspending and/or removing this journal you are doing both the community and your own public image a severe disservice.

Holding therapy is abusive and lethal and aimed at children, who have no voice. Please give abuse survivors back their voice.

Please take a moment to send a short email, reblog if you are able, and if you have support to offer please offer it to Radish directly.

April has been a busy busy month. In the last week and a half, I have been in five different states, seen Fall Out Boy & Cobra Starship three times, quit my job, read the latest Jim Butcher novel, and celebrated my niece's first birthday.

I had a fantastic time in Texas. It was awesome to be able to spend time with Wendy and Andrea; I wish I got to see them more often. Plus I got to spend a few days with Heather & I got to meet some of the Texas crew and make new friends. We had tickets for the Believers Never Die Part Deux tour in Dallas, Houston, and New Orleans, but the Houston show was rained out. Still, that was two nights of fantastic shows.

Came home on Tuesday, went to work on Wednesday to the news that they were implementing a mandatory schedule change for everyone, and since there is no way possible that I can work until 6:30 every day, Friday was my last day at RMG. So, anyone with good job prospects, keep me in mind?

Friday night was the BND show in Charlotte. Since I had to rebuy my tickets, I ended up taking the boys with me and Harley and Johnathan. I kinda love Cobra and FOB. Obviously. I do like the All Time Low boys, as well, and Hey Monday isn't something I'd actively seek out, but they aren't horrible. Cassadee is adorable. I was amused by the fact that Ronnie fell asleep when Fall Out Boy was on stage and slept through most of their set.

Only my kid, seriously. Davey had a blast though. He's such an adorable fanboy.

Yesterday was Bree's first birthday party. She is so preciously adorable.

And one last pic of Bree with her Uncle Jay and Davey with his heart hands and his new Cobra Starship shirt.

I should really say more, but I'm lazy and have been online most of the afternoon, putting different pictures up on myspace, updating and posting pictures to LJ, and generally goofing off, so I'm gonna go pretend I'm not permanently attached to my laptop. <3

Yesterday was my sister Pam's birthday, and today we celebrated by getting together at the park. We had a good time, even though it was kinda cool & windy, and I'm still recovering from my impromptu road trip to NJ and am still feeling rather nonsociable. I think I wore out my people-quota for a while with all the funeral stuff last week.

I was going to post this picture a couple weeks ago (seriously, has it only been two weeks? It feels like it's been a heck of a lot longer!):

This is a picture my dad had the day we went to see my Grandma that last time, and I stole it to scan it. This is a bunch of us when we were little down at Owens Bottom. I'm probably four or five in this picture; it was forever ago. But there are SO MANY pictures we have like this, of a bunch of us just hanging out together, and it reminds me that no matter how fucked up my family is, it's still a family. Even if we're not all blood-related. Also, I can't believe how little people have changed over the years and how recognizable they are. (I saw SO MANY people at MawMaw's funeral that I hadn't seen in YEARS. And, as always, a number of people I don't even remember.)

SoxFest was yesterday; I'm gonna put pics of the kids up on myspace from that. I'm trying to stay positive about our new affiliation, but everytime I hear their latest changes, I just wanna roll my eyes and stomp my foot and demand my Avalanche back. We'll see how the season goes. Opening day is April 9th, but I can't make that game, so the first game I'll see this season is April 10th.

Next weekend we're gonna hit the stands at Motor Mile Speedway! My cousin Taylor is racing. I'm pretty excited about that; I like the races.

Only 13 actual work days before TEXAS! That is the shiny, happy spot of my life right now. Texas and Wendy and Andrea and Heather and concerts and YAYES!!

There are probably other things I meant to talk about, but I won't right now. I really think weekends need to be longer; two days just isn't enough time to get everything done. <3

It's been a rough week. I feel a little off anyway because I didn't have class this week and it makes the days seem strange. I go back this week for the start of my last term.

Wednesday morning, they started walking people out of work. A bunch of people got laid off (including my stepdad), which is a shitty situation and there was a lot of anxiety and quite a few tears. Then, Wednesday afternoon, a group of us were told that we'll be working 9 hour days until further notice, when we've been working 7 hour days for weeks now. Idek. It'll be good for my paycheck, but not so good for my mental health. Which, as we all know, is kinda shaky anyways.

Something that always makes me feel better, though, is a happy list (which is, obviously, a list of things that make me happy!), so...

♥ 39 days! I have 39 days until I go to Texas! I am ridiculously excited for this.

♥ It is supposed to be almost 80 degrees outside today. Cannot wait to go play. As soon as I change out of my pajamas.

♥ My van is all legal and driveable and stuff! Or, it will be after my brother brings it back to me today.

♥ It's my sister Shannon's birthday.

♥ Trailers for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

♥ I've preordered my copy of Jim Butcher's Turn Coat and Jaida & Dani's Shadow Magic.

Uh, I'm sure there is more Happy, but I'm gonna go wake Stink up and spend some time outside with him & his brother. <3

I got to spend Saturday with my sisters, Shannon and Pam, and it was awesome. I miss hanging out with them.

Pam and her fantastic hubby Jay have a website/blog up -- PBandJsBabyDay -- go check it out!

Pam and Jay are going to be such amazing parents; they are already the best Auntie and Uncle EVER. My kids love them to pieces, and they are so excellent with all the kids.

We got like 4 inches of snow here, which is massively unfair since the outlying areas got like 10. But the kids acted like they'd never seen snow before! Silly things! Well, in all honesty, it's been YEARS since we've gotten good snow. It's mostly gone now, but we did get to play in it, and we took some pictures while it was coming down yesterday.
Right now, we're watching the first Harry Potter movie on Disney and trying to say warm. Fun times. :)

Intro Post

I really don't need another site to keep track of, but I like the idea of being able to share things in a blog, I don't like the one on myspace, and there's no way I'm sharing my Livejournal with some people. :)

I figure I can try to post updates about me and the boys on here, and that way everyone knows where to find us, y'know? I promise I'll try to keep the fannishness to a minimum, since that's what my LJ is for, but there are some times when I won't be able to help it, so you're forewarned. I mean, there are some things that cannot be contained in one place. Jim Butcher's Turn Coat coming out in April! The Half Blood Prince in July! Jaida and Dani's new book coming out sometime this summer! I cannot wait to be back in the world of Thremedon and see my favorite boys from the Dragon Core!

Mostly, though, this is for random ramblings *points to blog title* about general things. There will be pictures of children covered in dirt and stories of said children doing insane and often hilarious things. And irritating me, b/c they're mine and they're meant to do that.

I'm feeling blechy today. My head is all stuffy and achy. Davey's not feeling well either. I may call in tomorrow. Stupid job is stupid anyways. I'm still looking for a REAL JOB, if anyone knows of anything. I do have one more term of night classes. Then I have to actually pass the Coder's exam thing, which is rumored to be hard. I'm planning on making Carol and Karen review with me before we take it though.

Oh, I'm also looking for a new used vehicle. Big enough for me and the boys + the extras we always seem to have. And it's gotta be reliable; I'm going to DC twice next month (taking Tinsley & Lacee to the airport and back for their trip to Ireland) and to Charlotte the following month. And maybe Richmond next month too -- I'm trying to plan a Sunday day-trip down to Williamsburg to go to Magiquest.

Okay, I'm gonna go take some more cold meds and try to sleep. <3
